Updates To Two-Factor Authentication System, First2Host Security Pin

Following on from our Beta trial of login approvals vis text, Voice and Push notifications we have decided not to implement the system for all users.

Feedback from the trial suggested some users either do not have a phone, don’t have a smartphone or just did not want to provide a phone number to receive notifications. This has led to the conclusion the system is not suitable for our customer base. First2Host believes it’s important all of our users have access to our security features and, implementing a system that some users, however low the percentage is goes against our values.

Instead, we have decided to implement a Security Pin system which we believe is much more efficient and can be used by everyone. The new system is available right away for all users. Upon your next login to your First2Host client account, you will be forced to choose a pin number. This pin number should never be shared. Remember, anyone with access to your First2Host client account can manage your services because the client area is your only control panel in most cases apart from VPS Server products.

What to do if you forget your First2Host Security Pin
If you forget your Pin, simply click the Red pin recovery button, an email will be sent to your registered email address with further details on how to reset your pin.

What to do if your First2Host account is deactivated
If you or someone else enters the wrong Security Pin, the system will send you an email warning you of this. After three attempts the system will deactivate the account. At this point, all services will remain online but access to manage these services is denied. You are still able to view and submit support tickets and users should submit a ticket to the support team for further assistance. Any deactivated account will be recovered via your mobile number, please ensure you have the correct mobile number in your account.
