How to download Java and configure a Java security exception for VNC access
First2Host offers a KVM/IP system known as the VNC for all VPS users. For Linux servers, you can use the VNC to connect to your server even if it appears offline from outside of the network. This can be especially handy if you have made changes to your VPS Servers networking files and the changes have failed.
Instead of having to reinstall the server you can use the VNC to log in to your VPS server over the internal network to revert any changes you have made.
For Windows, VPS Servers customers can use the VNC to access their desktops over the internal network this means regardless of your connection state you will always be able to connect to your server.
Adding a Java Security Exception To Windows 10
Our VNC uses Java and if you want to access the VNC you will first need to download the latest Java release from the Java Website. Once downloaded, install the program using the default settings.
Next, on your desktop in the Windows search bar type Java and click the “Configure Java” Icon.
A new screen will open. At the top click the security tab and on that page click “Edit Site List”. Enter the following domain names and IPs. Both sets are required.
The control panel URL has changed. The only exceptions you now need to add are;
https://vps.first2host.co.uk
https://www.first2host.co.uk
Click save and close the Java control panel.
You now have a Java security exception ready for use with the First2Host VNC. To learn how to login to the VNC you can follow the related Blog post which will guide you through the process.
