How to load balance your traffic with a First2Host server
Many users and business customers start out with a small webserver to reduce costs especially when first starting out. This can cause problems further down the line once you have outgrown your web server. Migrating your data to a new server is always costly and time-consuming. In many cases your valuable website will to be offline whilst the process is complete.
Using a First2Host dedicated server gives you the ability to remove this problem and by using our servers and load balancing your traffic you can simply add a new server to your cluster and split your traffic between your servers. Any server in Canada or France has this ability. You can load balance most types of setups and is an ideal way to future-proof your online activities.

Requirements
1x Load Balancing IP
Note: Your servers must be setup in exactly the same way with exactly the same files or 50% of your users will see different information.
To get a load balancing IP you can contact our support team from your client area. Assuming you have two dedicated servers. All you need to do is swap your original server IP in your application or on your name servers. We will provide you with a load-balancing IP to replace your old IP. By default the traffic is split 50/50 between your servers but, should you need to take a server out of service to perform maintenance or upgrades all of your traffic can be sent to the remaining server.
