Changing the partition setup of your dedicated server and turning software raid off
Changing the partition setup in your dedicated server is a breeze with V3.1 of the dedicated server control panel. From the reinstall tab just tick the “customize installation” box and the partition setup will appear below. Here you can also turn software raid on and off. To add a partition just click “add partition” at the bottom. To edit partitions just click the “pen” icon and to delete partitions click the “recycle bin”
You can choose the mount point and filesystem of the partition. You cannot change these from the control panel once your server has been installed. If you need to make changes you can only do a fresh install from your client area
How to switch Software Raid off in your First2Host dedicated server
Raid takes a copy of the primary hard drive plus anything uploaded to it and stores it on the second hard drive installed on the server. Most of our servers, therefore, come with two hard drives and software raid is activated by default. If you didn’t want raid you can edit the partition setup. Under the raid option switch, this to “0” and that will disable our software raid. You can only do this when you first install your dedicated server
